Neither guy’s a Trump supporter, and both see this as a political boon to Trump. DeSantis might actually be the big loser, at least so far. They also see some very scary potential “collisions” between our legal and political processes.

The weirdness is how for Donald Trump, FBI scrutiny is an instant political benefit. It would not be for literally any other American political figure. You may see examples of unbalanced political thinking by lefties - it’s there, and you’d naturally be very sensitive to it. But JM, none of these details mattered to Trumpies in the least when they were busy convicting Hill in the court of public opinion. There was no presumption of innocence for her. There’s none now for Hunter Biden, or more importantly, Joe’s supposed involvement in Hunter’s dirty deeds.

Trumpistan puts all this political bias on steroids. They’re already giddy over tying up Congress with Hunter hearings when they retake the house. And the Don is presumed innocent (unlike Hillary), which does thankfully overlap with American values nicely, but the fantasy “deep state” is presumed to exist, be evil, and guilty of being really really really mean to his Orangeness! That presumption is 100% Trumpistani; 0% American.
